Francis Ciullo Sr.

Francis L. Ciullo Sr., 84, of The Birches Apartments, Ross Road, Old Orchard Beach, Maine, formerly of Lee, died Saturday at Southern Maine Medical Center. Born in Lee on Feb. 3, 1917, son of Luigi and Florinda Viale Ciullo, he attended local schools and worked locally during the Depression. During World War II, Mr. Ciullo served in the Army Air Forces as a gunner on a B-24 in the South Pacific. After the war, he worked in the coal mines of Pennsylvania. He returned to Lee and worked in quality control for the Kimberly Clark paper mills for many years, retiring in 1979. After his retirement, he resided in Florida, North Carolina and Old Orchard Beach. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Old Orchard Beach. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and had been involved in Little League baseball in Lee as a coach and umpire. His wife, the former Dorothy Sabot of Pennsylvania, is deceased. He leaves two sons, Wayne Ciullo of Old Orchard Beach and Francis L. Ciullo Jr. of East Rochester, N.H.; a daughter, Carol A. Moore of Raleigh, N.C.; a sister, Dorothy Mottarella of Lee, and six grandchildren. He leaves two sons, Wayne Ciullo of Old Orchard Beach and Francis L. Ciullo Jr. of East Rochester, N.H.; a daughter, Carol A. Moore of Raleigh, N.C.; a sister, Dorothy Mottarella of Lee, and six grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at St. Mary's Cemetery in Lee on Friday, Sept. 14, at 10 a.m. A memorial service will be held in New Fellowship Church at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 15. DENNETT, CRAIG & PATE, 365 Main St., Saco, Maine., is in charge of local arrangements; KELLY FUNERAL HOME is in charge of Massachusetts arrangements.
