Lawrence A. Lewis, 51
FLORIDA, Mass. — Lawrence A. Lewis, 51, of 70 South St., Drury, died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012, as a result of a hunting accident.
Born in Long Beach, Calif., on Oct. 4, 1961, a son of Doris Brown Lewis of Drury and the late David Lewis, he graduated from Drury High School in North Adams in 1979. He attended Greenfield Community College and then North Adams State College, graduating in 1984 with a degree in sociology.
Mr. Lewis was employed at TransCanada Power Co. as a specialty technician at the time of his death.
A skilled craftsman, he built his family home in Drury. He was an avid hunter and fisherman with a passion for all aspects of the outdoors, including golfing, snowmobiling, boating and gardening. He was a member of the Berkshire Beagle Club. He was a devoted husband and father.
He and his wife, the former Joan Berry, were married Sept. 1, 1984, in North Adams.
Besides his wife and mother, he leaves three sons, Chase Lewis and Chance Lewis, both of Drury, and Michael Shea and his wife, Krystlyn, and their son, Atreyu of North Adams; two sisters, Tamara White of Shaftsbury, Vt., and Sarah Bohl of Drury; two brothers, Gregory Lewis of the state of Florida and Daniel Lewis of Hoosac Tunnel, and nieces and nephews.
FUNERAL NOTICE — Calling hours for Mr. Lewis will be held on Friday, Nov. 9, from 2 to 7 p.m. at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St. A private burial will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Chase Lewis and Chance Lewis Education Fund in care of the funeral home.
