Guy M. Button, 55
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Guy Matthew Button, 55, of Foucher Avenue died on Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013, at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield following several months of failing health.
Born in North Adams on Sept. 28, 1957, a son of William and Corinne Genest Button, he attended schools in North Adams and graduated from Drury High School.
Mr. Button last worked in the Currency Division of Crane & Co. in Dalton. Earlier, he had worked in the shipping and engraving departments of Excelsior Co.'s Stationary Division.
He was a communicant of the Parish of St. Patrick and St. Raphael's in Williamstown. He had been a Eucharistic minister at the former Holy Family Church. He had been a coach for Marty's T-Ball and the North Adams Minor League. He had also volunteered running the concession stand for Marty's T-Ball in 2012. He was an avid Boston Red Sox and New York Giants fan. His greatest enjoyment was watching his son play sports and most recently traveling to Plymouth State University in New Hampshire to watch all of his football games.
He and his wife, the former Margaret R. Ebert, were married on Oct. 9, 1981.
Besides his wife of 31 years, he leaves his son, David M. Button of North Adams; a brother, Michael Button and his wife, Julie, of Belpre, Ohio; a sister, Georgia Swift and her husband, Peter, of Naples, Fla.; his faithful four-legged companion, Sassy; nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, cousins and many close friends.
FUNERAL NOTICE — A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Mr. Button will be held on Saturday, Feb. 9, at 9:30 a.m. in St. Patrick's Church in Williamstown, celebrated by the Rev. Wayne Biernat, pastor. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery in North Adams.
Calling hours will be Friday, Feb. 8, from 4 to 7 at Paciorek Funeral Home, 13 Hoosac St., Adams. Memorial donations may be made to Marty's T-Ball or the Plymouth State University Football Program through the funeral home, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, MA 01220.
