Welch Named MVP as All-County Boys Soccer Teams Named

After scoring 25 goals and leading his team to the finals of the Western Massachusetts Division 3 tournament, Finn Welch was named the most valuable player in Berkshire County by the county's boys soccer coaches on Tuesday.
 
Welch leads a group of five Mounties on the first team all-Berkshire squad.
 
Toby Foehl, Mitchell Jezouit, Oscar Low and Emi Soza-Foias represent Mount Greylock on the first team.
 
Pittsfield placed three players on the first team: Cole Masiero, Luke Peplowski and Ben Brooks.
 
Monument Mountain, Lenox and Mount Everett each are represented by two players on the first team.
 
Lenox, which won a third straight D4 sectional title this fall, placed Andre Collins and Cooper Shepardson. Monument Mountain is represented by Jackson Blanchard and Sam Schroeder.
 
Mount Everett Eagles David Bautista-Cruz and Jack Carpenter are the lone Berkshire County South Division representatives on the first team after leading their team to the sectional semifinals in D4.
 
Wahconah's Kevin Huban rounds out the first team.
 
Drury, Mount Greylock and Pittsfield each placed three players on the second team all-Berkshire squad.
 
The second team includes: Drury's Caleb Besaw, Scott McGuire and Hunter Sarkis; Hoosac Valley's Evan Norcross; Lenox's JT Novitski and Sam Schnopp; Monument Mountain's Justin Hawkins and Avery Manzolini; Mount Greylock's Owen Crowell, Julius Munemo and John Skavlem; Pittsfield's Petie Breitmaier, David Kankam and Avi Snowise; and Wahconah's Brody Calvert.
