NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Ivan Liang scored a pair of goals to lead the McCann Tech boys soccer team to a 3-1 win over Putnam on Friday.

The visitors scored first with a goal 20 seconds in, but the Hornets dominated from there.

Liang tied it midway through the first half with an assist from Matt Bailey.

In the second half, Nicholas LaForest converted a cross from Connor Griswold for the game-winner. Liang added an insurance goal to put the game out of reach.

Michael Harris made seven stops to earn the win in goal.

“Aside from being sucker-punched in the first 20 seconds, I am proud of the way we responded and how we played, especially having four or five injuries on our roster,” McCann Tech coach John Bresett said. “The game was good experience for the other guys, and I’m very proud with how everyone played today.

“We honored Dylan Thompson and Andrew Levesque on their Senior Night, and what a great way to have it with a win.”

McCann Tech (10-5-1) goes to Pioneer Valley Christian on Thursday.
