Mount Greylock Christens New Field with a Win

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Everett Bayliss scored four goals Friday to lead the Mount Greylock boys soccer team to an 8-1 win over Taconic in the first game on the new multisport field at the middle-high school.
 
Will Apotsos scored a pair of goals, and Ward Bianchi made four saves to earn the win in goal.
 
Kofi Roberts, Everett Crowe, Reed Miles-Harris and Tate Carothers each found the back of the net for the Mounties.
 
Fred Yankey tied the game for Taconic, 1-1, on a penalty kick before Mount Greylock was able to pull away.
 
Despite the final margin, Taconic coach Jason Keller credited center backs Connor Willusz and Fabian Agrello with strong efforts.
 
Taconic (0-2) goes to Hampshire Regional on Tuesday.
 
Mount Greylock hosts Easthampton on Tuesday.
