Taconic Ties Easthampton
PITTSFIELD, Mass. – The Easthampton boys soccer team rallied from a half-time deficit to earn a 1-1 tie at Taconic on Thursday.
Frederick Yankey gave the Thunder a 1-0 lead in the first half, scoring off a cross from Joshua Alvarez.
Taconic coach Jason Keller noted that his side lost, 4-1, when they played the Eagles earlier in the season, so the stalemate was a big step up.
The Thunder went into Thursday’s contest short-handed.
“We had a one man bench as we were twelve strong and proud,” Keller said. “I was disappointed to see the low numbers for the last game. I was proud of the boys that showed up. It was the same small group of great young men that attended practice, volunteered to help and carried the team.
“I am proud to coach these guys and I look forward to another year of Taconic soccer.”
The Thunder wraps up the regular season with a record of 5-10-1.
