SHEFFIELD, Mass. -- Chevelle Raifstanger had a goal and an assist Thursday to lead the Mount Everett girls soccer team to a 4-0 win over Taconic.

Alison Steuernagle and Hudah Ngoy Nkulu each scored in the first 10 minutes to give the Eagles a 2-0 lead. Raifstanger added an unassisted tally, and Emily Steuernagle converted a penalty kick try to put her team ahead by four goals at half-time.

“The girls played a more complete game today with effort, passing and overall involvement in the game,” Mount Everett coach Joshua King said. “Taconic tested us early, and we rose above the challenges. I was glad to see the girls improving from our game Tuesday and look forward to our game with Monument on Saturday.”

Emma Goewey and Emma Wilson combined to stop seven shots in the Mount Everett (1-1) goal.
