Belchertown Girls Pull Away from Mount Greylock in Second Half

BELCHERTOWN, Mass. – Morghan Litz scored a goal and assisted on another Friday to lead the top-seeded Belchertown girls soccer team to a 4-0 win over Mount Greylock in the semi-finals of the Western Massachusetts Class B Tournament.

The Orioles scored all their goals in the second half en route to a berth in Sunday’s final against Hampshire Regional.

“We did well to keep them scoreless for 55 minutes, but two goals in three minutes were the backbreakers,” Mount Greylock coach Blair Dils said. “They are a talented team who defend well and move the ball efficiently. Noemi Evans was excellent in net all game.”

Evans was credited with 12 saves in the Mounties’ goal.

Mount Greylock (13-2-2) learns Thursday where it is ranked in the Division 4 State Tournament.
