Pittsfield Edges Monument Mountain

PITTSFIELD, Mass. – Giselle Cormier scored the lone goal Thursday as the Pittsfield girls soccer team earned a 1-0 win over Monument Mountain.

 

Brooke Wong set up Cormier for the game-winner, and Harolyn Castillo stopped 12 shots to keep the clean sheet in goal.

 

“We moved the ball beautifully today and had some great chances and crosses,” Pittsfield coach Molly West said. “Placement of shots continues to be a point of emphasis. Brooke and Abbey Wong were fantastic today and Hannah Dalton was the crux of the defensive line. So many girls stepped up today in lots of ways.”

 

Pittsfield (7-4-2) goes to Chicopee Comprehensive on Monday.

 

Monument Mountain (4-9) hosts Housatonic Regional of Canaan, Conn., on Wednesday.
