Pittsfield Girls Blank Agawam

AGAWAM, Mass. – Maddie Pope converted a penalty kick for the game’s only goal Thursday as the Pittsfield girls soccer team beat Agawam, 1-0.

Ella Kroboth stopped nine shots for the Generals, who posted their third straight shutout.

“Tight, physical game back and forth so beyond proud of our composure and resiliency,” Pittsfield coach Molly West said. “Maddie Pope was brilliant in the midfield and Hannah Dalton phenomenal as sweeper. Ella Kroboth had a few great saves as well.

“We are playing fantastic soccer right now so I’m happy we’re peaking at the right time.”

Pittsfield (9-7-1) is looking ahead to the Division 3 State Championship. The pairings come out next Thursday.
