Washburn Wows, Wahconah Tops Taconic

DALTON, Mass. – Braylen Washburn birdied four holes and played the front nine at Wahconah Country Club in 1-under par to lead the Wahconah golf team to a 147-188 win over Taconic on Wednesday.

 

Washburn birdied the fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth holes on his way to a 34 to earn medalist honors.

 

“I'm so proud of the job Braylen did tonight,” Wahconah coach Pete Terpak said. “This is the type of round that hooks a player for life in our sport. Four birdies in a row. This was on a windy, cool night from our regular tees so it's pretty awesome.”

 

Logan Aitken birdied the third hole on his way to a 36. And Kesler Anello birdied No. 2, No. 6 and No. 7 in carding a 37. Joe Hoffmann rounded out the scoring for Wahconah with a 40.

 

Brodi McCormack led Taconic with a 42.

 

The Thunder (3-6) hosts Lenox on Friday.

 

Wahconah is at Forest Park to play Hoosac Valley on Friday.
