Mounties Post Strong Scores in Rough Weather at Home
WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – Jacob Hillman carded an even-par round of 35 on the back nine at Waubeeka Monday to lead the Mount Greylock golf team to a 152-191 win over Hoosac Valley.
The Mounties improved to 13-0 this fall and matched their low round for the season.
“To shoot that score in those conditions was a fantastic feat,” Mount Greylock coach Erik Tiele said. “The blustery conditions were truly outrageous.”
Kai Nafziger and Tanner Haig-Taylor each finished in the 30s with rounds of 37 and 39. Max Wied rounded out the scoring for the Mounties with a 41.
Hillman (No. 15), Wied (No. 10), Haig-Taylor (14) and Rodric Rustay (10) each had a birdie.
Hoosac Valley’s Zach Mongeon birdied the 17th hole in shooting a team-low 42.
The Hurricanes (4-8) are at Wyantenuck to play Mount Everett and Monument Mountain on Wednesday.
Mount Greylock is home on Wednesday against Taconic.
