Berkshire Nordic League Holds Relays to End Regular Season
DALTON, Mass. – Wahconah and Mount Greylock Saturday dominated the Berkshire County Nordic Ski League’s season-ending event at Wahconah Regional High School.
The league held a relay, and most of the skiers turned out in costume to take their final laps before things get serious on Tuesday at the State Championships at Prospect Mountain in Woodford, Vt.
The co-ed relay teams completed multiple circuits around the campus, giving friends and family plenty of opportunity to see their favorite racers in action.
Units from host Wahconah took three of the top five places and four of the top 10, led by the squad anchored by Caddy Gladu.
His group finished 20 seconds ahead of Mount Greylock anchor Simon Shin.
Shin’s Mounties placed second and fourth and, like Wahconah, placed four relays in the top 10.
