Mount Greylock Girls Romp at Lee

LEE, Mass. -- Mount Greylock’s Adriana Carasone edged teammate Josephine Bay at the finish line as the Mounties’ girls dominated in a four-team race at Lee High on Wednesday.

 

Carasone and Bay each clocked a time of 21 minutes, 53 seconds to finish 15 seconds ahead of the field.

 

They also led a Mount Greylock contingent that took the top four positions and eight of the top nine. The Mounties earned dual wins over Wahconah and Mount Everett.

 

Wahconah’s Natylee Martin placed fifth to lead her team to a 2-1 record with wins over Lee and Mount Everett.

 

The host Wildcats beat Mount Everett behind a 16th-place finish by Zoe Mertinooke.

 

Mount Greylock’s boys also went 2-0, including the closest boys dual of the meet, a 22-38 decision over Wahconah.

 

Wahconah’s Noah Wesley won the boys race, but the Mounties’ Luke Irwin, Finnegan Voisin and Patrick Holland finished second through fourth. Wesley and Wahconah did go 2-1 on the day.

 

Mount Everett’s boys picked up a win, topping Lee behind Ben Vella’s sixth-place finish.
