HOLYOKE, Mass. -- Taconic junior Matt Rabasco finished fifth in the 2-mile run on Friday at the PVIAC/Berkshire County Division 1 meet, which was shortened after eight events due to a thunderstorm.

Rabasco finished in 10 minutes, 14.72 seconds in his event, which was won by Amherst Regiona's Ryan Stender in 9:48.04.

Thanks in part to Rabasco, Taconic's boys were fourth out of 16 teams in the boys competition, which made it through just seven events before the weather intervened. Minnechaug led the team competition with 60 points, ahead of second-place Chicopee Comp with 40.

Taconic had 19 points when the meet was suspended -- one point ahead of fifth-place Pittsfield.

Pittsfield freshman Rich Jackson finished ninth in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:02.44. Chicopee Comp's Dillon Parent won the event in 57.36.

In the girls meet, Taconic senior Courtney Luscier had the top prelim time in the 100 meter dash, crossing the line in 12.98
seconds. Pittsfield junior Amanda Wright qualified for the final with the sixth-fastest prelim time, 13.28.

In the boys 100, Taconic senior Dom Nda had the second-fastest prelim time, 11.25, just five one hundredths behind Amherst's Taj-Amir Torres.
