Wahconah Qualifies for Western Mass
DALTON, Mass. – Logan Aitken carded a 40 on the back nine on a blustery day at Wahconah Country Club to lead Wahconah to a 167-187 win over Lenox.
The victory secured a spot for Wahconah in the Western Massachusetts Division 2 Championship later this month.
Braylen Washburn finished at 41, and Caleb Colombari and Kesler Anello each carded a 43 to round out the scoring.
“We qualified for Western Mass tonight with a real solid team effort in some atrocious conditions,” Wahconah coach Pete Terpak said. “167 is a really good score with the cold temps and the wind howling. It's great to see Logan play solid and step up when it mattered the most. He's been knocking on the door all year long and is starting to unlock some high end talent he's capable of. Braylen has once again risen to a higher level with his recent play and Caleb had a breakout round for us.”
Oliver Kirby led Lenox with a 43.
The Millionaires (9-3) go to Lee on Wednesday.
Wahconah (7-4) hosts PIttsfield on Tuesday.
