Drury Pounds Athol in Tournament Opener

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. – Lucas Hamilton and Jake McAllister combined on a four-hitter on the mound Monday as the Drury baseball team opened the Division 5 State Tournament with a 20-2 win over Athol at Joe Wolfe Field.
 
Julian Feliciano went 3-for-4 with a double and a pair of RBIs to lead the Blue Devils’ offense.
 
Connor Hinkell was 2-for-4 with a double and three runs batted in, and Brayden Durant and JJ Prenguber each doubled in a 10-hit Drury attack.
 
Hamilton went five innings to earn the win, allowing just two unearned runs. McAllister provided one inning of scoreless relief.
 
Fourth-seeded Drury (15-6) advances to the Round of 16 to host No. 20 Brighton, an upset winner over Madison Park Tech on Monday. That Sweet 16 game is scheduled for Wednesday at 1 p.m.
