Dimitropolis Leads McCann Tech Baseball in Season Opener

PALMER, Mass. – Jaydon Dimitropolis went 3-for-3 with a triple on Friday to lead the McCann Tech baseball team to a 13-2, five-inning, season-opening win over Pathfinder Regional Voc-Tech.
 
The Hornets exploded for eight runs in the top of the first inning to set the tone for the day. They were up, 12-0, midway through the third before Pathfinder got on the scoreboard.
 
Hayden Barrett earned the win on the mound, striking out 11 and walking five in five innings of work.
 
Zach Howland went 2-for-3 with a double and a pair of RBIs in a seven-hit attack for the Hornets.
 
McCann Tech (1-0) is back on the road on Tuesday against Smith Vocational.
