Northampton Baseball Tops Mount Greylock
NORTHAMPTON, Mass. – Northampton pitchers Dylan Lawrence-Riddell and Charlie Agostino-Pierce combined to scatter nine hits and lead the Blue Devils to a 6-3 win over Mount Greylock on Wednesday.
Malcolm Leyda went 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles to lead Mount Greylock. Asher Barrale was 3-for-4, and Emery Rotter was 2-for-3 with a pair of RBIs in the loss.
“We, unfortunately, put ourselves in bad situations tonight walking the first batter in at least four or five innings,” Mount Greylock coach Rick Paris said. “That makes it tough on the team. We played solid defense but being young we had a tough time today throwing consistent strikes.”
Northampton batters collected eight free passes and stole seven bases to make the most of their three hits.
Mount Greylock (1-1) plays its third straight road game to open the season on Friday when it heads to South Hadley.
