Codey's Gem Lifts Pittsfield Past Pope

PITTSFIELD, Mass. – Pittsfield’s Jason Codey struck out nine and scattered three hits in a complete-game, 8-0 win over Pope Francis on Friday.
 
Codey surrendered just one walk in lowering his earned run average to 1.42 this season.
 
David Wildgoose led Pittsfield’s offense, going 2-for-4 with a triple, a double and two runs batted in.
 
Cam Hillard went 2-for-3 with an RBI, and Brendan Socie and Morrie Fried each doubled in a 10-hit attack for the Generals.
 
Codey helped his cause by going 1-for-3 at the plate.
 
Pittsfield (12-2) takes a six-game winning streak into Monday’s rematch against Taconic on Valentine Road.
