Hoosac Valley Boys Upset Mount Greylock in Western Mass Quarters

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Freshman Nate Haley scored six goals, and Brady Larkin made nine saves Thursday to lead the Hoosac Valley boys lacrosse team to a 10-3 win over Mount Greylock in the quarter-finals of the Central/Western Massachusetts Division 3 tournament.
 
The sixth-seeded Hurricanes (15-3) move on to next week's semi-finals, where they will face No. 2 Nipmuc (15-4), a 16-2 winner over Wahconah on Thursday night.
 
Vance Eugene scored a pair of goals,and Matt Hall had a goal and an assist. Casey Meczywor and Josh Paree each set up a pair of goals.
 
For Mount Greylock, Sean Malloy, Hoby MacWhinnie and Michael Wellspeak each scored a goal, and David Falk stopped 10 shots.
 
The third-seeded Mounties finish the season with a record of 15-5.
