CHESHIRE, Mass. -- Alie Mendel and Claudia Bresett scored four goals apiece to lead the Hoosac Valley girls lacrosse team to a 13-7, come-from-behind win over Hoosick Falls, N.Y.

“Today was the first time all season we’ve been down by more than one goal, and I was impressed by our resiliency and hard work to battle back,” Hoosac Valley coach Molly Meczywor said. “We did a much better job settling down in the second half and looking for cutters.

“Our circle of Alie, Brooke [DiGennaro], Faith [Hall] and Cairagan [Greene] continues to give us advantages through draws.”

DiGennaro scored twice, and Greene had a goal and two assist for Hoosac Valley, which got five saves from Emily Godfrey.

The Hurricanes (8-0) host St. Mary’s of Westfield on Tuesday afternoon at MCLA.
