WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Carolyn Jones scored seven goals, and the Mount Greylock girls lacrosse team jumped out to an eight-goal half-time lead en route to a 20-12 win over Hudson on Tuesday in the first round of the Central/Western Massachusetts Division 2 tournament.

Clare Sheedy scored four times, including the second goal of the game for her 100th point at Mount Greylock, as the second-seeded Mounties (15-4) set up a home quarterfinal against No. 7 Oakmont (12-5) on Thursday evening. Oakmont advanced Tuesday with a 14-12 win over Lunenburg.

"I am really impressed with how hard we worked first half," Mount Greylock coach Lindsey von Holtz said. "We won almost every 50-50 ball and had some great scoring opportunities. Seven different players scored during the first half."

Caroline Flynn had a hat trick and set up three goals, and Emma Polumbo and Lauren Howard each scored twice.

Autumn Delorey stopped 10 shots to earn the win in goal.
