Andrews Leads McCann Softball in Extra Innings

GRANBY, Mass. — Eight was enough for the McCann Tech softball team on Friday as the Hornets scored eight runs in the eighth inning to earn an 11-3 win over Granby.

 

Lexi Andrews went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, two RBIs and three runs scored to lead McCann, which allowed Granby to climb back into it after taking a 3-1 lead into the bottom of the sixth.

 

Haley Malloy pitched the distance, striking out 9 while allowing just three hits for McCann (5-3).

 

Alanza Quinones homered and drove in three runs, and Jess Sunn was 2-for-4 with a double.

 

The Hornets host Monson on Monday.
