Tart Leads Hoosac Valley into Western Mass Semis

ADAMS, Mass. – Izzy Tart homered and drove in five runs Monday to lead the Hoosac Valley softball team to a 19-0 win over Palmer in the quarter-finals of the Western Massachusetts Class D tournament.

 

Tart went 2-for-4 on the day.

 

Gianna Witek was 3-for-4 with a double and a pair of runs batted in. Gracelyn Wright was 2-for-3 with a triple, and Hannah Lord had a single, a double and two RBIs.

 

Wright went the distance in the circle, striking out seven, walking none and allowing just two hits in the complete-game, five-inning shutout.

 

Top-seeded Hoosac Valley (17-0) will be home in the semi-finals against either Hopkins Academy or Turners Falls, who met later Monday evening.
