Top-Seeded Hurricanes Open Tourney with Win

ADAMS, Mass. – Izabela Tart went 2-for-2 with a pair of home runs and seven runs batted in Monday to lead the top-seeded Hoosac Valley softball team to a 13-1 win over Norfolk Aggie in the first round of the Division 5 State Tournament on Russell Field.

 

Rachael Wnuk went 4-for-4 and drove in a pair of runs, and Genevieve Lagess was 2-for-3 with a double in an 11-hit Hoosac Valley attack.

 

Gracelyn Wright went the distance in the five-inning win, striking out 11 and walking one.

 

Hoosac Valley (20-0) Wednesday faces No. 17 Pioneer Valley Regional in the Round of 16.
