Taylar Hickey struck out 12 and allowed just two runs in seven innings of work in the circle.

Hickey helped her cause with a pair of hits, including a double.

“We have been outside for one practice, so to come away with a win was great,” Wahconah coach Dustin Belcher said. “I thought we hit the ball very well, and Taylar Hickey did a great job in the circle for us today.”

Wahconah (1-0) is off until next Friday when it goes to Pittsfield.
