Spartans Walk Off Win Against Lee

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. – Gianna Beacco stole third base and scored on an error in the bottom of the eighth inning Tuesday to give the Monument Mountain softball team a 3-2 win over Lee.
 
Beacco started the inning with a leadoff single and moved up the throw to get into scoring position.
 
She went 2-for-4 for the Spartants, who got a solo home run from Lexi Carpenter (2-for-2).
 
Andrea Paul earned the win in the circle, striking out 15 and walking seven to take a pitchers duel from fellow South County ace Bri Lynch.
 
Lynch struck out 16 and walked two while allowing two earned runs for the Wildcats.
 
Lynch also hit a solo home run for Lee, which got an RBI from Kassandra Clark (1-for-3).
 
Lee (7-6) goes to Wahconah on Wednesday evening.
 
Monument Mountain (10-3) hosts Mount Everett on Wednesday.
