Wahconah Tops Pittsfield

PITTSFIELD, Mass. – Marlee Arnhold struck out 14 in a complete-game effort in the circle Thursday as the Wahconah softball team beat Pittsfield, 15-7.
 
Sammie Kaley led Wahconah’s offense, going 4-for-5 with a double and a pair of RBIs.
 
Julia McComish was 2-for-4 with a double and drove in three runs.
 
Sydney Payson, Kenadi Arnhold, Madison McCarthy and Melaina Haczela each had a pair of hits in a 16-hit attack for Wahconah.
 
Kaelyn Fields led the Generals, going 4-for-4 with a double. Amelia Polidoro went 3-for-4 with a pair of RBIs, and Mia DeJesus and Ava McMahon each doubled for Pittsfield, which rallied for three runs in the bottom of the seventh but could not overcome the eight Wahconah scored in the top of the inning.
 
Pittsfield (3-7) hosts East Longmeadow on Friday.
 
Wahconah (6-1) hosts South Hadley on Friday.
