SHEFFIELD, Mass. – Jorge Bond Tuesday scored 28 points to lead the Drury boys basketball team to a 67-55 win over Mount Everett.

Bond scored 13 points in the first quarter, when the Blue Devils opened up a 19-9 lead it never relinquished.

“We put ourselves into a hole in the first half,” Mount Everett coach Jowe Warren said. “Early foul trouble didn’t help. We cut the deficit to nine in the fourth, but we didn’t have enough in the tank for the comeback. It was a good learning experience for the team.”

Shane Foucher scored 21, and Brayden Durant added 14 for Drury.

Mount Everett was led by Darius Taliaferro with 20 points and Brady Carpenter with 11.

The Eagles (5-1) host McCann Tech on Jan. 2.
