Eagles Get Road Win to Clinch League Title

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Brady Carpenter scored 29 points Friday to lead the Mount Everett boys basketball team to a 65-56 win over Libertas Charter as the Eagles clinched the Bi-County West Division Championship.
 
In the fourth quarter, Carpenter scored 12 points and went 4-for-4 at the free throw line to help the Eagles outscore their hosts, 22-13, to earn the win.
 
“The team showed toughness and resilience in a tough environment,” Mount Everett coach Jowe Warren said after the team clinched the school’s first league title since 1962. “I couldn’t be prouder of the team.”
 
Trevor Leonard scored 11 points.
 
Darius Taliaferro and Guthrie Davis added nine and eight, respectively.
 
Mount Everett (13-2) goes to Hampden Charter on Tuesday.
