In honor of the spring cleanups that are going on throughout the county, this week's Bros. Athletes of the Week have shown that they can, respectively, rake and mow down the competition.
Pittsfield softball catcher Hayley Tobin has posted a .643 batting average in the first three games of the season.
She has a team-leading nine hits and five RBIs for a team that is outscoring the competition by a margin of 36-7 in three wins.
Two of those wins came against 2017 Western Mass tournament team as the Generals look to get back to the sectional Division 1 final.
On Friday, Tobin went 4-for-5 with a double and four runs batted in as Pittsfield dominated Agawam, the team it beat in last year's semi-finals.
The McCann Tech baseball team is looking to get back to the D4 finals, where it last appeared in 2016.
Then-sophomore Robert Matte III threw six innings to earn the win in the Hornets' semi-final win.
This spring, he is 2-0 with a .50 earned run average after throwing the county's first no-hitter of 2018, an 11-strikeout gem on the road at Commerce on Friday.
The Athlete of the Week is sponsored by Bedard Bros. Auto of Cheshire.
