Pittsfield Girls Complete Sweep of Taconic

PITTSFIELD, Mass. – Jamie Duquette scored 23 points, and the Pittsfield girls basketball team used a pair of big runs to earn a 67-40 win over Taconic on Friday night.
 
The Generals went on a 23-2 run in the first half to take a 25-8 lead midway through the second quarter.
 
Taconic opened the second half by closing the deficit to 12 points when Jalisa Jessup hit a 3-pointer from the left wing with about three minutes left in the third quarter.
 
But Pittsfield then went on a 21-2 run to take a 60-29 lead midway through the fourth when Randi Duquette scored in transition to give her team a 31-point lead with 3 minutes, 50 seconds left on the clock.
 
Madison Stetz scored 12 points and pulled down eight rebounds for the Generals, who got seven points and eight rebounds from Randi Duquette and six points and eight boards from Kyanna Summers.
 
Harolyn Castillo finished with 10 rebounds.
 
Ahna Balcom led Taconic with eight points. Jaelynn Walker scored seven.
 
The Thunder (2-3) goes to Longmeadow on Tuesday.
 
Pittsfield (6-0) goes to Chicopee on Tuesday.
