Monument Mountain Downs Taconic
PITTSFIELD, Mass. – Ynes Bourdon matched her career high with 15 points Friday to lead the Monument Mountain girls basketball team to a 48-24 win over Taconic.
Caroline Becker scored seven points, and Remi Perreault and Sophia Guete-Ramierz added six apiece in the Spartans’ first win.
“On a night where we didn’t shoot the ball that well from deep, we were able to move the ball effectively against their zone and get out in transition to get ourselves going,” Monument Mountain coach Joe Valerio said.
“Caroline Becker has been very reliable and very productive so far through the early stages of this season and has developed into a very well-rounded player on both ends for us.”
Taconic got 12 points from Melani Hamilton, who knocked down three 3-pointers.
“We are a very young team, and we’re starting to learn to play with each other,” Taconic coach Jason Conuel said. “We had a team goal to hold to 40 points, and we did that, for the most part. We sped them up a lot in the second half, but we missed a lot of easy baskets that would have put us in different situations.”
Taconic (0-3) goes to Lee on Tuesday.
Monument Mountain (1-2) is at Mount Greylock on Tuesday.
