Wahconah Advances to Sunday Title Game

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Madison McCarthy Saturday scored 24 points to lead the Wahconah girls basketball team to a 70-31 win over Classical High School of Rhode Island at the Hoophall Invitational at Springfield International Charter School.

 

McCarthy hit three of her six 3-pointers and scored 11 points in the first quarter, when Wahconah jumped out to a 23-2 lead

 

Danielle Hagmaier scored 14 points, and Gianna Heilbroun and Gracey Farley each added 10 in the win.

 

Wahconah (6-3) goes back to SICS on Sunday to play either the host Bulldogs or St. Johnsbury, Vt., in the bracket title game at 5 p.m.
