MONSON, Mass. – Olivia Chrzan scored 18 points, and the Monson girls basketball team held off a late Mount Greylock comeback attempt to take a 56-50 win on Thursday night.

Charlotte Coody converted five of six free throw attempts in the fourth quarter, when the Mounties outscored Monson, 18-12.

“We fought until the end but came up a little short tonight,” Mount Greylock coach John Jacobbe said. “No excuses, but I am super proud of their effort on back to back long road trips.”

Coody tied for game-high honors with 18, and Molly Sullivan and Emma Newberry each scored eight for the Mounties.

Mount Greylock (2-2) hosts Agawam on Tuesday.
