Sudders said Wednesday that there are characteristics of the nursing home industry in Massachusetts that have made it particularly susceptible to transmission of the novel coronavirus.
The total number of deaths in the state jumped to 356 with 96 new deaths reported from over the weekend and Monday. The total for Berkshire County is now 18, two-thirds of those from Williamstown Commons.
The 180-bed has seen cases rise since the first positive test results on March 24. Within three days the number had jumped to 14.
