Le Petit Musee located at Wild Sage at 333 North Street in Pittsfield MA is pleased to announce a special exhibition of work by Anna Rowinski from Pittsfield MA entitled "Kaleidoscapes: Light, Color, Revolution" opening on August 5th and running until August 27th. A reception for the artist will be held from 1-3pm on August 5th. Ms. Rowinski says; "Art is: like breathing, like child's play, horrendously difficult. I paint because I must. It is in my cells. It is what I was meant to do. The vastness of a blank sheet of paper or canvas is the vastness of the universe..." The series on view is called "Kaleidoscapes: Light, Color, Revolution". Kaleidoscapes is a series of small paintings from the artist's large interior vision created using only three colors -- burnt sienna, ultramarine blue and white. As in a kaleidoscope, light illuminates flowing worlds revealing never-before-seen landscapes in constant change. Objects emerge. Structures emerge. Clouds, creatures & astral bodies emerge. Also on display from August 5 - 27, 'Haiku Hell' - a text based installation piece by Sherry Steiner from Housatonic MA. The gallery also features an eclectic and constantly changing assortment of works by Alex Zenger, Steven Levine, Richard Way, Franco Pellegrino, Ellen Joffe-Halpern, Robert Castagna, Steven Dansky, Leslie Klein and Sherry Steiner that includes paintings, sculpture, wordart, collage and photography. Le Petit Musee @ Wild Sage is open Wednesday - Sunday noon to 6pm. For more information: 413-329-4141.

District Attorney TimothyShugrue says the community has been 'really upset' by this case.
PITTSFIELD, Mass. — A Hancock man has been charged in last week's gruesome dragging that killed 69-year-old William Colbert.

William Gross, 65, was arraigned in Central Berkshire District Court on Wednesday for negligent motor vehicle homicide and leaving the scene. He was arrested Monday after police investigators narrowed down the type of car seen on video at the accident scene.

Police say Colbert had fallen in the road at the Francis Avenue and Linden Street intersection on Feb. 10 before he was struck and dragged nearly four miles. His body was found on West Housatonic Street.

Gross is being held on $250,000 cash bail in the Berkshire County House of Corrections. District Attorney Timothy Shugrue said the case will go to a grand jury and foresees additional charges being placed.

"I think this community was really upset by this case," Shugrue said while being interviewed by the press after the morning arraignment.

"It's a horrific case, and the fact that someone was fleeing, and there was someone that was stuck there that could have been treated, and potentially in the initial stages, could have been potentially saved."

Colbert was coming from a house on Francis Avenue about 11:30 on Feb. 10 when fell in the road and had trouble getting up, according to Shugrue.
