Fairview Commons Names New Administrator
GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. — Katie Coburn has been named administrator for Fairview Commons Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, according to Berkshire Healthcare Systems Operations Director Jack WarrenCoburn will lead a team of professionals dedicated to providing patient-centered care in a wide range of specialties, including long-term care, adult day health, respite visits, Alzheimer's and dementia, and restorative care at the 151 Christian Hill Road center.
In addition, she will oversee Fairview Commons' all-private room Rehab and Recovery Wing, a hotellike environment that includes private telephones, flat-screen televisions, wireless Internet access, and other amenities. The wing is designed for patients to rehabilitate comfortably following orthopedic surgery and many other procedures, as well as to recoup following a short-term illnesses.

"We are becoming more specialized and more responsive to the needs of our baby-boomer generation, which has a high expectation for important amenities that are provided in the Rehab and Recovery Wing. Coburn has been an administrator in the field of senior care for 27 years, the last nine as the head of Great Barrington Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.

Coburn earned her associate's degree from Manchester College. She has previously been an administrator in facilities in Connecticut before coming to the Berkshires, including Plainville Health Care Center, Sun Alliance Golan Health Care Group in East Hartford and Avon Convalescent Home.
