The purpose of this award is to honor that member of the men’s intercollegiate hockey program who, in the opinion of the athletic director and coach has shown the most improvement over the course of the season, while displaying "teamwork, hustle, spirit, and friendship." The award for 2009-2010 goes to junior Connor K. Olvany.

WILLIAM E. McCORMICK AWARD ("The Coaches Award")
In 36 years (1953-1989) at the helm of the Williams College Hockey Program, Bill McCormick served as a teacher, coach and friend to two generations of athletes. He also set a high standard of personal service to the Williams College community.

The William E. McCormick Award "The Coaches Award") was established with the respect, affection and deep appreciation of his former players. The awardee for 2009-2010 is senior Alexander Smigelski III, who was also chosen Most Valuable Player.
