NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Greylock Federal Credit Union has granted Child Care of the Berkshires Inc. a donation of $5,000 in support of the organization's Haskins Community Center's capital campaign for the childhood center.

Child Care's Monument Square Early Childhood Center serves more than 75 children in six different classrooms. Plans call for renovating the infant room, installing energy-efficient lighting in the classrooms and offices, and adding exterior doors to the facility.

"Greylock is always happy to support organizations that work with families in need," Greylock President Marilyn L. Sperling said. "We believe in worthwhile projects with positive, long-term results and are happy to support advocates of families who need assistance in Berkshire County. It is the credit union philosophy – people helping people."

CCB Executive Director Anne Nemetz-Carlson said the nonprofit organization was thrilled to receive the grant.

"It couldn’t come at a better time. The gift will help support the investment in renovations and help us toward meeting our requirements for a matching grant," she said. "We appreciate Greylock’s generous gift which will directly impact many children and parents who use the Family Resource Center and the Monument Square Early Childhood Center in the years to come."
