Trailblazers Fall to Framingham State, 83-59

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — The visiting Framingham State Rams placed four players in double figures as they handled the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts Trailblazers, 83-59, Thursday evening. With the win, the Rams improve to 10-5 overall and move to 3-2 in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference play. The Trailblazers dropped their fifth straight game in falling to 8-9 overall, 0-4 in the conference.

Madeleine Park led Framingham with game-highs of 21 points and nine rebounds. Kristen Hoffman was outstanding collecting 20 points, six assists and five steals. Other Rams in double figures were Kia Minor with 12 points and Samantha Irvine with 10.
 
Framingham started quickly as they scored the opening eight points of the game before MCLA got on the board. After the Trailblazers Lucy Tremblay converted a 3-pointer to make it 13-7 in favor of Framingham, the Rams used a 12-2 run ignited by a Kristen Hoffman lay-up and a Madeleine Park 3-pointer, giving the visitors a 25-9 lead, their largest of the half.
 
MCLA outscored Framingham 16-8 over the next six minutes to cut the margin to 33-25, however, Framingham scored the final six points of the half to take a 39-25 lead at the break.
 
The Rams wouldn't let up in the second half. With the score at 43-29 early in the half, the Rams went on a 8-0 run led by Park and Hoffman, who tallied all eight points. The lead grew to as many as 28 points at 68-40 before settling on the final score.
 
The Trailblazers shot just 32 percent from the floor and committed 20 turnovers.
 
MCLA will return to action on Saturday looking to rebound against Fitchburg State at 1 p.m.
