The Solid Sound Festival is a three-day celebration of community, art and music that perfectly captures the essence of North Adams. Hosted at MASS MoCA, this weekend is headlined by the indie rock band, Wilco. The festival is complete with a comedy cabaret programmed by John Hodgman and additional Wilco-related bands performing on four additional stages.

Once or twice a year, MASS MoCA shines a bright light on an American legend. With one of the most cherished voices in popular music, Aaron Neville is one of these national treasures. Raised in the Calliope projects of New Orleans, Neville's youth was filled with songs of a burgeoning doo-wop and R&B scene - influences that are woven with grace and power into all of his music, especially his 2013 release, My True Story.

Storey Publishing and Hoosac Harvest are teaming up to plan this opportunity to share your extra seedlings with other gardeners. As backyard gardeners and growers, we all know that seed packets often contain more seeds than we can use in one season. We've come up with a plan to put these to use. You can then exchange your seedlings for varieties you don't have. We will have peat pots and potting soil available for transplanting. There will also be short demonstrations on seed starting, container gardening, and composting.

OPEN CALL	Crafters, Farmers, Artists, and Artisans Wanted! Main Street Market June 23, 2013 Main St. (413)664-6180 9am-2pm Application Deadline: June 10 $25 Click here for vendor application. The North Adams Office of Tourism & Community Events, along with the North Adams Chamber of Commerce present the Main Street Market! The Main Street Market, a combination of craft fair, art fair, and farmers market, will take place during Solid Sound weekend. This event hopes to not only draw in visitors to the city's downtown, but also the locals looking for something different to do during this exciting weekend. The purpose of this market is to showcase art, goods, foods and produce that are unique to the Berkshires, and to compliment - not compete with - the existing downtown shops. This juried event is currently looking for vendors to participate. Vendors applying to sell crafts and arts such as jewelry, pottery, clothing and fine art must create the goods they intend to sell. Farm/meat/dairy vendor applicants must produce the goods they are selling and have appropriate state seals or licenses to apply. Vendors looking to sell baked goods must have/obtain food safe certification, allergen awareness certification, and have either a commercial kitchen license or home kitchen license to apply.
CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS	Volunteers Wanted: Talk to a Townie Program The North Adams Office of Tourism and the North Adams Chamber of Commerce are joining forces to create a new volunteer program that focuses on bringing information about the city to visitors who are in North Adams attending festivals and events. The Talk to a Townie program will enlist the help of local volunteers to attend events around the city and act as mobile information centers by having conversations with visitors and passing out information about area attractions and local businesses. The kick-off for this program is the Solid Sound Festival at MASS MoCA, happening June 21-23. The Talk to a Townie program is currently seeking volunteers who are passionate and knowledgeable about North Adams. INTERNSHIP	Are you looking for a summer internship in arts administration? Have you always wanted to work at MASS MoCA? Check out this opportunity with Assets for Artists: Click here for more information. Assets for Artists is an innovative and fast-growing program that offers free financial training, business planning resources, and working capital grants for artists to invest in their creative micro-enterprises. The program now serves over 100 artists (in all disciplines) throughout the northeast. Working at MASS MoCA (the lead partner behind Assets for Artists) as a key member of a small team, the Assets for Artists intern will be involved in all aspects of program administration and development, including artist outreach, data management, grantwriting and stewardship, content development for social media, and researching and promoting artist opportunities to our network. The intern will receive a stipend of $100/week, plus access to MASS MoCA's fabulous summer programming. Send resume and cover letter to Briana Halpin.
