DALTON, Mass. — Berkshire Money Management has welcomed Jamie Smith to the fast-growing Dalton team.

Smith is the firm's seventh hire in the last two years and is the new client success coordinator. She is first point of contact — i.e., the friendly face at the helm — for all visitors and callers to BMM. She will also be responsible for all accounting operations, client onboarding, scheduling, and all other client service needs.

"Jamie, a registered paraplanner with a strong accounting background, is a great fit for our firm," said BMM founder and CEO Allen Harris. "We work so closely with clients helping them to plan for and achieve their unique goals. Not only does Jamie understand people and their concerns and needs, but she also has the clinical experience to help clients realize their intended outcomes."

Prior to joining Berkshire Money Management, Smith was an executive assistant at Atlas Private Wealth Management in North Adams for nearly six years. She earned her bachelor of arts degree from the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts with a concentration in accounting and a minor in mathematics. She also attended the College of Financial Planning and earned her designation as a Financial Paraplanner Qualified Professional.

As a result of growing up in a military family, she was able to live in numerous states, graduating from high school in Ohio. She returned to the Berkshires — where her family is originally from — to attend college. She now lives in Adams, Mass., with her husband, daughter and one cat.

On the heels of her NCAA Division III National Championship, Wahconah graduate and UMass-Boston senior Aryianna Garceau was named the Northeast Region Women's Track Athlete of the Year by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association this month.

Garceau broke her own Division III record in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.25 seconds at the National Championship meet in Birmingham, Ala.

She also earned all-America honors with a seventh-place finish in the 200-meter dash at the meet -- the fifth all-America recognition in her stellar colleague career.

With this month's win at the NCAA indoors, Garceau has won three national crowns, including the 2025 indoor 60-meter hurdles and the 2025 outdoor 100 hurdles.

Garceau and the Beacons open the outdoor season on Saturday at the Flagship Opener at UMass-Amherst.

Staying on track, Mount Greylock graduate Jack Catelotti helped the Rensselaer Polytechnic men win the Liberty League Indoor Championship. Catelotti ran a leg on the Engineers' third-place 4-by-400 relay team.

Another former Mountie, Wesleyan University first-year student-athlete Katherine Goss, placed 10th in the triple jump with a mark of 10.9 meters at the New England Division III Championships. She opened the outdoor season with a third-place finish in the 100-meter hurdles at last weekend's J. Elmer Swanson Spring Classic in Middletown, Conn.
