Nomination Papers for Cheshire Town Elections 2022 Available Feb. 1
CHESHIRE, Mass. — Nomination papers for each of the 18 elected positions on the ballot for the May election will become available at the town clerk's office on Tuesday, Feb. 1.
Among the positions on the ballot are two three-year-term seats on the Board of Selectmen. Board Chair Michelle Francesconi and member Mark Biagini currently hold those seats.
Also on the ballot are three Planning Board seats for terms of one, four and five years.
Two Board of Assessors seats are on the ballot for terms of two and three years. The assessors currently have one vacant seat.
A three-year term on the Board of Health is also up for election. Other boards with seats on the ballot are Cemetery Commission, Water Commission, Hoosac Valley Regional School Committee and McCann School Committee.
Three constables, each with a three-year term, are on the ballot.
Those interested in nomination papers can schedule an appointment with the town clerk by contacting 413-743-1690, Ext. 22, or townclerk@cheshire-ma.gov. Prospective candidates have until 5 p.m. on March 10 to obtain nomination papers and need to return them by 5 p.m. on March 14.
The deadline to withdraw nomination papers is 5 p.m. on March 30 and must be in writing.
Those interested in voting in the town elections have until 8 p.m. on April 12 to register.
