MCLA Green Living Seminar: 'Williamstown Composts!'

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Nancy Nylen and Ann McCallum of Williamstown Composts! will give a talk titled "Williamstown Composts!: Lessons from a Community Composting Pilot Program" at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 13 at the MCLA Feigenbaum Center for Science and Innovation, Room 121.  
 
Part of MCLA's Green Living Seminar series, this event is free and open to the public. Masks are required in all buildings on MCLA's campus. 
 
About Williamstown Composts! 
 
The composting project is spearheaded by Williamstown residents Ann McCallum and Nancy Nylen with logistical and financial support from Casella Waste Systems, the Zilkha Center for Environmental Initiatives and Center for Environmental Studies at Williams College, the Town of Williamstown, and the Williamstown COOL Committee, which is dedicated to reducing greenhouse gas emissions. They also acknowledge support from the Community Climate Fund, which is administered by the Center for EcoTechnology and receives funding from Williams College. 
 
The series is a presentation of the MCLA Environmental Studies Department and MCLA's Berkshire Environmental Resource Center. 
 
Presentations will also be broadcast on Northern Berkshire Community Television Channel (NBCTC) 1302 at the following times: 
 
Wednesdays at 7:30 p.m. 
Fridays at 4 p.m. 
Saturdays at 3:30 p.m. 
Sundays at 11:30 a.m. 
Mondays at 5:30 p.m. 
 
Recordings will also be available on the College's YouTube channel.

BAAMS' Monthly Studio 9 Series Features Mino Cinelu

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — On April 20, Berkshires' Academy of Advanced Musical Studies (BAAMS) will host its fourth in a series of live music concerts at Studio 9.
 
Saturday's performance will feature drummer, guitarist, keyboardist and singer Mino Cinelu.
 
Cinelu has worked with Miles Davis, Sting, Weather Report, Herbie Hancock, Tracy Chapman, Peter Gabriel, Stevie Wonder, Lou Reed, Kate Bush, Tori Amos, Vicente Amigo, Dizzy Gillespie, Pat Metheny, Branford Marsalis, Pino Daniele, Earth, Wind & Fire, and Salif Keita.
 
Cinelu will be joined by Richard Boulger on trumpet and flugelhorn, Dario Boente on piano and keyboards, and Tony Lewis on drums and percussion.

All proceeds will help support music education at BAAMS, which provides after-school and Saturday music study, as well as a summer jazz-band day camp for students ages 10-18, of all experience levels.
 
Also Saturday, the BAAMS faculty presents master-class workshops for all ages, featuring Cinelu, Boulger, Boente, Lewis and bassist Nathan Peck.
