Adams' Quaker Meeting House Tours Set for Summer
ADAMS, Mass. — The Quaker Meeting House will be open to the public on Sundays from July 10 until Oct. 9 opening at 1 and closing at 4 p.m.
Quaker Meeting House, located in Maple Street Cemetery, was built in 1782 by the East Hoosuck Meeting of the Society of Friends and has been essentially unchanged since its construction.
It was the place of worship for four generations of social reformer and women's rights activist Susan B. Anthony's family.
Anthony was born in Adams in 1820 and also used this place of worship until she was 6.
