30th Annual Stockbridge Summer Arts & Crafts Show Begins Aug. 20
STOCKBRIDGE, Mass. — The Stockbridge Summer Arts and Crafts Show, now in its thirtieth year, will be held Aug. 20 and 21 on the grounds of the Town Offices and Bidwell Park, 50 Main St.
The event is free and open to the public and will showcase over 70 jury-selected artists and crafters, ranging from paintings to ceramics, fiberware to jewelry, sculpture to photography. Hours are Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Among returning artisans will be Susan Pillay of New York City. Susan designs unique infant and children’s hand-painted wearable art, using eco-friendly dyes and natural cottons.
Barbara Doncaster, a Berkshire Artist with her studio in Great Barrington, MA offers paintings. Barbara’s paintings appeal to home and corporate collections as well as textiles, home furnishings, apparel and more.
Matthew Johnson of Easthampton, MA features hand forged, one of a kind, furniture and sculpture made of iron and wood.
Local artisan Linda Barbadoro of Stockbridge, MA offers a distinctive style of Handcrafted Dark Bamboo Flutes and Walking Sticks.
Virginia Stevens of Cranston, RI designs a unique line of handcrafted jewelry. Her line is all made using genuine sterling silver, 14K gold, semi-precious stones, or freshwater pearls.
Ahmi Goldfarb of Livingston, NJ is a master batik artist working to create visually stunning artwork for over three decades. He utilizes the batik medium to convey his passion of life. He creates subjects ranging from faith and love to the joy of caring for our beloved pets.
Among other exhibitors will include Julia Rose Miner a painter from Stockbridge, MA whose recent collection of textural paintings of abstract landscapes explore the ideas of innocence and decay. She uses a pallet that consists of candy, stuffed animal materials, and vibrant pastel colors. These works play with the corrosion of nostalgia while holding onto a childlike optimism. Roxanne Parent of Conway, MA offers handmade pottery and Ron Stattner of Red Hook, NY featuring one of a kind, whimsical wire sculpture.
