BUZZARDS BAY, Mass. -- The MCLA volleyball team cruised to a four-set MASCAC victory over Mass Maritime Saturday afternoon 25-9, 25-17, 21-25, 25-13.

Tied at 4-all early in the 1st set, MCLA (7-3, 2-0) used a dominating 20-3 run to separate themselves and jump out to a 1-0 set advantage. Up 8-6 in the second, the Trailblazers used a more modest 8-2 run to pull away at 16-8. That eight-point cushion would prove to be the difference as MCLA would take the set 25-17.

Though down 20-14 in the third set, after reeling off six straight points it looked like the Trailblazers were poised to close out the match. Mass Maritime (2-7, 0-2) battled however and ended up pulling out the set 25-21 to avoid the sweep.

Up 6-5 in the fourth, MCLA shifted into overdrive finish the set with a 19-8 run to win it 25-13, and to close out the Bucs 3 sets to 1.

Sophomore standout Chloie Garber led the way for MCLA with 15 kills and 33 digs. First year Anais Badio finished with seven kills, seven digs and six service aces while classmate Elizabeth Brown of Lee had five kills and 18 digs.
